Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Privacy Policy describes the information that is collected from you when you visit this portfolio website, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using the website you acknowledge the practices described below.
01Information We Collect
We collect only a minimal set of information needed to operate, secure, and improve the website. The categories collected depend on what you do and on the choices you make (for example, your cookie preferences or whether you sign in).
- Anonymous technical information about your visit (browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, time zone, current URL and referrer).
- An anonymous, randomly-generated Visitor ID and Session ID stored in your browser's local storage to recognize repeat visits without identifying you personally.
- Marketing attribution parameters when present in the URL (such as UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content).
- A timestamp of the first time you visited the website, used to determine whether you are a new or returning visitor.
- If you choose to sign in with Google, your name, email address and profile picture, used strictly to authenticate you and to power the client area.
02Analytics & Visitor Data Collection
This website operates on a two-tier model. Before you decide on cookies, a small anonymous page-view event is sent so you can immediately see what is being collected. After accepting analytics cookies, a richer anonymous event is sent with additional technical details.
Pre-consent (always sent)
Before any decision is made, a minimal anonymous page-view event is sent to the server. It contains no cookies and writes nothing to your browser. It is the same data you would typically see in a basic web server access log.
- Current URL and path
- Referrer
- Browser and browser version
- Operating system and version
- Device type and platform
- User agent string
- Preferred language
- Time zone
- Country, region, and city derived from server-side request headers (when available)
After accepting analytics
If you accept the Analytics cookie category, additional anonymous technical data is sent. This tier writes an anonymous Visitor ID, Session ID, and first-visit timestamp to your browser's local storage so that repeat visits can be counted.
- Anonymous Visitor ID and Session ID (random, browser-local)
- First-visit timestamp and returning-visitor status
- Screen size and viewport size
- Color scheme preference
- Cookie-enabled and online status
- Do Not Track signal
- Languages list
- UTM marketing parameters when present in the URL
03Cookies
This website uses a small set of cookies and similar browser storage to remember your preferences, to keep you signed in, and — only with your consent — to record anonymous visit statistics. You can read more in the Cookie Policy.
04Anonymous Visitor IDs
When you first visit the website, a random anonymous Visitor ID and Session ID are generated in your browser. These identifiers contain no personal information and are used solely to count unique visits and to recognize repeat visits. They are not linked to your name, email, or any other identifier, and they can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's storage.
05How We Use Information
Anonymous analytics data is used to:
- Improve the website, its content and its performance.
- Understand audience size and general geographic distribution.
- Monitor performance, security, and reliability.
- Detect and prevent abuse, scraping, and automated attacks.
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns (via UTM parameters).
06Third-Party Services
This website relies on a small number of third-party services to operate. They each have their own privacy practices:
- Google Sign-In — used to authenticate visitors who choose to access the client area.
- Discord — used to forward anonymous analytics events to a private channel for the website owner.
- Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights — used to monitor site performance and traffic patterns.
07Data Retention
Anonymous analytics events are forwarded to a private Discord channel and are not stored in any first-party database. Discord retains forwarded messages according to its own retention policy. Information collected when you sign in is retained only for as long as your account is active.
08Security
All analytics traffic is sent over HTTPS, validated on the server, rate-limited per IP, and forwarded to Discord from a server-side route that never exposes the Discord webhook URL to the browser. The webhook URL is stored as a server-side environment variable and is never bundled with client-side code.
09Your Rights
Because the analytics system is anonymous and does not store identifiable information on our side, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. You can, however, clear your Visitor ID and Session ID at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain. You can also disable analytics entirely by rejecting the Analytics cookie category in the consent banner.
10Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, along with a "last updated" date at the top.
