Elementa — Periodic Table Explorer
Elementa is an interactive periodic table explorer built with SolidJS and SolidStart. It covers all 119 elements — from Hydrogen to Ununennium — backed by a single structured dataset that powers every view. The main screen renders the classic table layout with group and period labels plus the lanthanide and actinide bands, color-coded by element category. Users can search by name, symbol, atomic number, category, phase or block, or narrow the table through filters for category, block, phase, period and group. An explore mode fades the entire table to a single dimension — block, phase, category, period or group — to reveal patterns at a glance. Clicking any element opens a detail drawer with physical and atomic properties, electron configuration, shell diagrams, a lazily loaded interactive 3D atom model and discovery history. Up to three elements can be compared side by side across 17 properties in a dedicated modal. Selection and comparison state is mirrored to the URL, so any view is shareable and survives refresh. The interface supports dark and light themes, eight languages, and is keyboard-friendly with ARIA landmarks and focus management.
